I’ve been with Greenspire since the Spring of 2012 and am so happy to be a part of this community.
I grew up in the Boardman River Valley of Northern Michigan where my family has lived for five consecutive generations. As a child, I immersed myself in the exploration of the natural world spending much of my time out of doors. This nature-based childhood blossomed into a mature and deep appreciation for the natural world and our relationship to it.
My life today is guided by the belief that there is nothing more important than strengthening our bonds with nature and neighbors. We must turn towards one another and help; and together, we must turn towards the earth and do the same. These principles heavily influence my approach to Outdoor Education at Greenspire.
In addition to being a certified Master Gardener, I have also studied in the Kamana Naturalist Training Program with the Wilderness Awareness School, and I received my Permaculture Design Certificate in 2016. I live on a small solar-powered farm in Kingsley where I work to rehabilitate the land.
