Alli Boyer

I am so excited to be back in Northern Michigan and teaching math at The Greenspire School! I grew up in Suttons Bay, Michigan where I spent a lot of time outdoors and participating in middle and high school athletics. Upon graduating, I attended Grand Valley State University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I enjoyed working in the hospitality field and even got to spend some time working at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. 

After working in the hospitality industry for a few years, I decided to go back to school to teach math. I earned my second bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in mathematics and went on to earn my teaching credential and M.A. in Teaching from the University of California Irvine. I have spent the last eight years teaching middle school math at a Title 1, California Distinguished School in Southern California. 

My husband and I decided to move our family back to Northern Michigan, after 12 years away, to be closer to our family and the place that we have always called home. I am thrilled to join the Greenspire family and look forward to making math relevant and tangible for my students.
