Greenspire is and has been an integral part of my family’s life since it opened its doors.  Both of my children graduated from the Greenspire Middle School long before a high school was even contemplated, and that experience has had a lasting positive impact on them both.

As for me, I served as a volunteer foreign language instructor for 7 years at our Middle School before becoming a board member.  I strongly believe that the Greenspire Mission to provide a unique educational program based on purposeful connections between individuals, communities and the environment is essential to a bright, positive future.  Greenspire is helping to “grow” happy and engaged humans, and I am grateful and excited to be a part.

Graduating from University of Michigan with a degree in Linguistics and minor in International Business, I spent seven years traveling around the world in search of best practices” in the auto industry.  My husband (who is a TC native) and I settled in Traverse City 30 years ago.  For many of those years I have enjoyed being a foreign language instructor at NMC’s Extended Education Services and still love it!  You can also find me making breakfast once a week for Central United Methodist’s Outreach program which serves those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.

Thank you to my fellow board members for the time and talent they share with our Greenspire community!
