Hello Greenspire Community –
Thank you to our community…
A huge thank you to our community for participating in our Community Impacts for the month of December. As you can see from the picture below, we have gathered over 500+ items for local charities and organizations. You can continue to drop-off items until 2:30 pm on Tuesday.
If you are able to help organize and load the items into Sarah’s vehicle for delivery to these organizations, please come to Greenspire from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm on Tuesday. Please make sure you wear masks.
Another huge thank you to those that donated to the Greenspire Foundation during our inaugural 100% in 100 Days campaign. We raised $26,480.98! Remember that this campaign is about participation and we appreciate any donation made to the school, no matter the amount. Please know that this money goes to help the students at Greenspire and further the mission of the school in the community.
Welcome our new staff member!
Please welcome Jean Schramm to the Greenspire community. Jean joins us part-time as a special education teacher beginning today. Jean comes to us with a wealth of experience and we are excited to have her join our team!
Winter Break and Returning to School
Winter Break is from Wednesday, December 23rd through Friday, January 1st.
The building will be closed during Winter Break. If you need to pick-up or drop-off any items you can do so today until 3:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. The building will be closed after that.
School resumes on Monday, January 4th with the continuation of remote learning for all students. For now, remote learning for all students extends through the end of the school day on Wednesday, January 6th.
If you did not see the letter posted on our website from local health officials and school leaders, please see the attachment below.
We are working on a plan to bring our students back to in-person learning in phases beginning in January. The proposed plan takes into account the feedback of parents/guardians, students, and our faculty/staff over the past several weeks, while at the same time, balancing the safety of our community while COVID-19 cases remain high in the county, region, and state. We will still offer a fully remote option for students similar to the one prior to November 18th.
The determination to return to in-person learning will most likely take place on Monday, January 4th. I would ask that everyone please check your email over break for any additional updates or announcements of special board meetings. We will still be working hard over break to get this all finalized.
Please enjoy your Winter Break and stay safe!
