Events:
This Week’s Student Council Meeting: Wednesday, October 13, at 9:00am. The GHS staff will be reviewing GHS Lockdown Drill Procedures during their classes on Monday, October 11th. Please give your student a heads-up if needed.
The Student Support Council (SSC) is meeting on Monday, October 11th at 7pm and is being done virtually this month. Click here for more information: https://greenspiressc.wordpress.com/
Our new classroom furniture is being delivered on Thursday and Friday of this week, so classes may be held outside all day.
The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) Field Trip Takes place on Thursday, October 28th from 1:00-3:30pm. This will be a walking field trip along the Tart Trail. Any interested student will be issued a TADL library card. Please be looking for a permission slip to come home in a couple of weeks!
Haunted Forest Event on 10/29/21, from 5-7pm at the middle school campus
GHS Winter Formal Dance will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Reminders
GHS Picture Day will take place on Thursday, October 21st in the morning. Picture day forms are located here. We will also take our large group photo that day! Please be here! Students- If you want to see your current grade status in your classes, please see Erica in the lounge during Pathway Hour. We are still working on your portal access in Powerschool.
Please be sure to”like” our Greenspire High School Facebook Page to see photos of your student! Students who have opted out of photographs will not be posted.
Fear of Failure notices have started for students who have missing assignments or concerning grades on assignments. If your student is receiving under a 70% in a course, an email will be sent to you and your student. The student should follow up with the teacher to resolve this.
Student Council Announcements
The Haunted Forest Committee met on Friday at 8:00am and planning is underway!
The Winter Formal Committee meeting is MONDAY at 8:00am in 214! Don’t forget!
The new GHS Classroom Signs have been ordered! The classrooms will be named after The Great Lakes and Oak, Pine, and Cedar Trees!
That’s-a-Pizza will continue every Thursday at lunchtime for interested students! 2.00 per slice.
SPIRIT WEEK will take place during the week of October 25th. To celebrate our Greenspire spirit, interested students may dress in each day’s theme.

- 10/27 Wednesday: Crazy Hair Day
- 10/28 Thursday: Crazy Sock Day
- 10/29 Friday: Halloween Costume Day
- The Halloween Costume Contest will take place on 10/29/21.
- Costumes categories will be: Funniest, Best Group Costume (2 or more), Scariest, Most Creative, DIY, and Most Realistic. GHS Staff Members will vote for the best in each category. Winners will receive a gift card.
Affirmations and Gratitude: Thank you to the GHS teachers for being amazingly dedicated to this little school. We are a small staff wearing many hats, and each staff member has shown continued dedication, despite the many challenges of starting a new high school. Thank you to the many supportive parents who have reached out to us with support and praise this past few weeks; it means so much to know you alongside us and supporting our efforts.
