Support Needed for Medical Careers & Blood Typing Lab – Feb. 28
We are excited to announce an upcoming Medical Careers and Blood Typing Lab on February 28, where students will have the unique opportunity to explore healthcare careers while participating in a hands-on genetics lab. This event will connect students with medical professionals and give them the chance to test their own blood type in a safe, supervised setting.
To make this experience possible, we are seeking donations to help cover the cost of Blood Typing Cards and lab supplies. Your support will allow students to engage in a real-world application of science while learning about genetics, transfusion compatibility, and the importance of blood donation.
If you are able to contribute, please make a check out to The Greenspire School or drop off a cash donation. Every donation, big or small, helps provide an enriching and educational experience for our students.Thank you for your support in inspiring the next generation of medical professionals and scientists!

In the second half, we studied the agricultural industries use of GMOs, and did a case study on a growing monopoly: Monsanto. The assignments were physical copies this week, so to check in with your child lookout for Modifying a Pet/Animal, and The GMO argument; Case study of Monsanto assignments. Have a good weekend!
Science: Students have begun exploring concepts of adaptation and survival of species or natural selection. These investigations parallel the concepts of artificial selection and genetic engineering they are exploring in Sustainable Ag. Students are using what they learn to develop characters, crops, and animals for the Game On! project. Next week students will continue to explore Natural Selection in more depth and its role in the Theory of Evolution.
