Dear Greenspire Community,
We are just one week away from opening enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year, and we want to begin by sharing how grateful we are for our supportive, caring, and engaged Greenspire community. As we look ahead to next year, we ask that all families complete the enrollment process to secure their child’s seat, including returning families (even if your child joined us mid-year) as well as new families. Please review the information below for important details, timelines, and next steps. We are incredibly proud of the community we’ve built together, and if you know friends or family who may be interested in Greenspire, we would be thankful if you shared your experience and helped spread the word. Thank you!

Special Olympics Field Trip:
Thank you to our amazing community for making our Special Olympics field trip such a meaningful experience. We are so grateful to our parent chaperones and to all families for their flexibility and patience with transportation delays and adjusted pick-up times. A huge thank you as well to our kind, respectful, and enthusiastic students who represented our school so beautifully at this community event. And a very special shout-out to Kris, an incredible educator, whose hard work and dedication made this opportunity possible for all of us.
Cell Phone Policy Reminder:
This is a friendly reminder that students are not permitted to use or have their phones out of their backpacks or pockets during the school day unless they have asked and received permission from a school staff member. Students are always able to reach their parents or guardians by checking in with school staff first. If a student has their phone out during the day, a staff member will secure the phone at the front desk. Phones will be returned during car line, or for students who are walkers or bikers, before they leave campus. If you need to contact your child at any point during the day, please reach out to the front office at 231-421-4405 or email office@greenspireschool.org. Thank you for your continued support. This policy is important in helping us reduce distractions and maintain a focused learning environment for all students.
Chili Chill Out:

We are excited to host our annual Greenspire Chili Chill Out on Thursday, February 12, from 5:30–7:00 PM!
If you, a friend, or a family member are interested in cooking and sharing your favorite chili recipe, please sign up with the registrar. If possible, we ask that all chili entries be clearly labeled with any allergens on labels given at the event.
The Chili Chill Out is open to the public, so feel free to invite friends and family to join us. Tickets are $5 per person.
Bring a chili in a crock pot to compete—or simply come to enjoy tasting and voting for your favorites! Prizes and awards will be given to the top-voted chilis. We hope to see you there for a fun and delicious evening!
Enrollment for 2026/2027:
The 2026–2027 Greenspire School enrollment period will open on Friday, February 6. During this time, all new and returning students are required to complete an enrollment application for the upcoming school year.
**Applications can be completed on the Greenspire School website starting on February 6. **
Please note that applications must be submitted by Friday, March 13 at 4:00 PM. Returning students who do not complete an application during this enrollment window may forfeit their spot for the next school year. Even if your child currently attends Greenspire, an application is still required.

We kicked off our next project this week by seeing how we experience the world differently from others. This project will focus on human neurodivergencies and how the world is interpreted by those who have them. As a person with a neurodivergent brain, I will be sharing many of my experiences to “normalize” the idea of having a different brain for everyone in class.
