Hello Middle School Community –
Welcome to May! We have some exciting announcements for the middle school this week:
Emily Feaster – We are pleased to announce that Emily will become the Assistant Head of School at the middle school beginning in August 1st. Emily has been with Greenspire since 2015 having served as both a Math and Science teacher as well as our Math Coordinator, State Reporting Coordinator and Technology Coordinator. She previously served as Interim Assistant Head of School in 2020. Emily will be an amazing addition to our administrative team.
Erin Fitzpatrick – We are pleased to announced that Fitz will become our new Outdoor Education Teacher beginning next fall. We were so lucky to have Fitz return to Greenspire this year as our ELA and Stewardship Teacher. Fitz was the perfect person to fill this position with her love for outdoor education and her background in science. We are excited to have Fitz continue to grow our outdoor education program for years to come.
As we continue to expand Greenspire over the next few years, if you know of someone that would be a perfect fit for our school community, please have them check out our employment page.
LOC Returns – The middle school will be heading back to the Leelanau Outdoor Center (LOC) this September for an overnight trip beginning on September 14th. More details about the trip will be shared in the coming months, but we are excited to get back to this community building event.
Michigan State Police School Safety Grant – Toward the end of February, I applied for the Michigan State Police School Safety Grant and we were notified this weekend that the middle school received a $37,000 award. These funds will be used to continue upgrading our middle school buildings, adding to the work we have already done over the past 18 months to improve safety on campus.
10 Year Celebration
Please note that our 10 Year Celebration has been moved from May 21s to June 11th from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the middle school campus. We hope to see everyone there!
