Thank you to all of the students, staff and guardians that volunteered at The Haunted Forest! It was great to see students so invested in a project, leading groups, connecting with the community and seeing all of their hard work pay off. Events like this are not possible without the support of our great community so thank you again to all of those who donated, volunteered, supported their students, or attend the event.

End of Quarter 1 Grades

The Last day of Quarter One is November 3, 2023. No student work can be accepted after this date. Students are currently turning in their final products for the Breaking Ground and Sticks and Stones projects. You can learn more about individual subject area final products on our PBL Website. We often find students’ stress levels may rise at the end of the quarter as they strive to meet deadlines. We find this to be productive stress as they learn to balance workloads and reflect on how they have managed project work for the past nine weeks. However, if you see unhealthy levels of stress please email or have your child email their advisory teacher.  Teachers will also be busy grading these final products and last minute late work for the next couple of weeks. Please understand that Powerschool grades may fluctuate during this period. Feel free to email teachers with individual grading concerns. The teachers convey their thanks to parents for all their support in quarter one.

Student Led Conferences:

Students at Greenspire lead their conferences. This is a great opportunity to see exactly what students have been learning in each class. Signups will begin next week and you will receive a link to sign up in your email.

Inclement Weather:

While we may not want to talk about it, snow is beginning to pop up in our forecasts. Please make sure students bring hats, gloves as the temperatures start to decrease. Snowpants and boots will be needed once snow is on the ground. In the case of inclement weather, school closings will be posted on 7&4, our website, an email and our social media sites. Please look for closing information for “The Greenspire School”. We are not a TCAPS school so just because TCAPS is closed, does not mean Greenspire will be closed.

Suicide Prevention Event:

We all play a role in suicide prevention! There is a free presentation, Suicide Awareness and Prevention for Caregivers and Communities, Thursday, November 9 from 6:30-7:45pm ET / 4:30-5:45pm MT. The discussion will take place via Zoom: https://tinyurl.com/TRAILS-11-9
