Digital and Fine Art Teacher

Lisa Perrine Brown is an art teacher, fine artist, and Product Designer. Her career began as a product designer for corporate manufacturing companies: Ford Motor Company and Fisher-Price. In 2001, she was asked to teach Industrial Design at the University of Michigan. She had aspirations to investigate the art and design world beyond corporate design. She went back to college to study Textile Design at Konstfack in Sweden and then embarked upon her master’s in Fiber & 3D at Cranbrook Academy of Art for her MFA. She focused on global issues, sustainability, and future trends. After her MFA studies, she was recruited to work in the automotive industry first at Altair Engineering where she pioneered their first Product Design Studio. Then she was recruited to work at Ford Motor Company to design interiors for the Excursion and F-250 platform. While at Ford she was promoted to head up the Design Academy which brought continued education to the car designers, clay modelers, and design management at Ford.

Subsequently, she decided to return to teaching and manage the Product Design Department for Raffles Design International relocating her to Mumbai, India. Her goals were to obtain a global outlook on life and design today. In 2009, she returned to the USA to raise her daughter in Traverse City, Michigan. From 2010 – 2017, she worked full-time in her fine art studio and publicly showed her woven tapestries and paintings. During this time, she also traveled extensively to stay aware of global issues and ideas: In 2013 she went on a three-month exploration through Europe with her 4-year-old daughter. Both in 2016 & 2017 she traveled to India for 5 months. In the summer of 2017, she was recruited to work for TentCraft to design luxury luggage to house their premier tents. In 2018, she enhanced her 3D modeling skills at the College for Creative Studies. In 2019, she was asked to join Karnavati University as an Assistant Professor. Last academic year, she taught at the STAMPS School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan and painted in her studio. This summer, Lisa Perrine Brown joined Greenspire High to teach High School Arts, Crafts, and Digital Arts.
