Michelle Jacokes
I earned a B.S. in Food Industry Management from Michigan State University and a minor in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems in 2015. Since graduating worked on various biodiverse organic farms in Western MA and NoMI. I came to NoMI to serve as an AmeriCorps member with the GTRLC for 2 years in 2017 in a land stewardship role and have since worked as a produce safety technician with the Manistee Conservation District and covered 5 counties in the greater grand traverse region, and after wore multiple hats as manager at a local biodiverse organic vegetable farm in the grand traverse area. My passion has always been for regenerative agriculture. I enjoy connecting with the ever-changing aspects of agriculture and exploring innovative ways for farms to take steps toward safer produce and conservation-driven initiatives. When not at school, I love to immerse myself in the great outdoors; cook; hike; spend time with my niece and family; spend time with pals, and explore the wonders of NoMI!
