“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” – Anthony J. D’Angelo

When I was five years old, my parents decided to move from Dearborn, MI to our family farm in Brethren (45 minutes south of TC). I attended and received my Bachelor’s degree, majoring in Biology while competing for Alma College’s baseball team all four years. Leaving Alma, I was not sure the direction I wanted to go in life. I really enjoyed my academic experience so I wanted to give back by coaching and getting back into the scholastic environment. I went back to Brethren High School to coach and also supervise the Responsible Thinking Classroom. This is where I developed my interest and passion for education as I was fascinated at how much more went into education than I originally perceived. Wanting to move into the classroom, I moved to Phoenix, AZ where I was the Science and STEM teacher at Western School of Science and Technology where sustainability and environmental studies were a priority. I completed my Master’s in Education during the winter of 2020. I enjoyed teaching in the Arizona but knew that I wanted to come home and begin my Michigan teaching career.

As I join the Greenspire High School staff, I am extremely excited for the opportunity to push myself and continue to develop as an educator. Project-based learning presents many innovative ways to present content and I am ready to dive in! With this in mind, I am ready for the challenge and opportunity to provide high effective and engaging instruction to the students of Greenspire!
