Dear Greenspire Middle School Community,
Today, our 8th grade students had the opportunity to travel to the high school for a Fake-A-Day experience. During their visit, students toured the school, explored classrooms and spaces, and spent time meeting high school students who shared their experiences and offered helpful insight. It was a wonderful opportunity for our 8th graders to ask questions, build connections, and begin feeling confident and prepared for the year ahead.
We are also excited to share that Greenspire Middle School will be hosting a Fake-A-Day experience for new and prospective students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade on February 13 from 12:30–2:30 PM. This is a great way for students to experience a day at Greenspire, meet teachers and peers, and get a feel for our learning community.
Please help us spread the word to any friends or family who may be interested. To register, families can call the office or email office@greenspireschool.org. Feel free to share the attached flyer as well.
Thank you for your continued support of our school community!

Academic Support at Greenspire:
As we head into the new semester, we want to reassure families that supportive opportunities for your child are always available. Students have access to weekly open work time to review PowerSchool, receive guidance, and complete assignments for any class where they may need extra time or have missing work. In addition, our Success Lab is available to provide extra academic support, skill-building, and individualized help as needed. These structures are in place to ensure every student feels supported and set up for success.
Open Work:
Your child has a designated open work period once a week. During this time, students review PowerSchool and have the opportunity to complete assignments for any class where they may need extra time, as well as work on any missing assignments. This structure is designed to help students stay organized, catch up as needed, and feel supported in their learning.
Success Lab:
Success Lab has launched as a dedicated, supportive space where students can catch up on work, get organized, and deepen their understanding in classes where they need additional support. Each Wednesday, students who are currently failing one or more classes meet to focus on completing missing assignments and strengthening key skills. This structured time has already helped students make progress and feel more supported in their learning.
Participation in Success Lab temporarily replaces one weekly elective until students reach a passing grade in the identified course(s). Our goal is to provide students with the time, guidance, and encouragement they need to feel confident, successful, and back on track academically.

We are wrapping up Forming My Future with a really fun and creative final product. Students put themselves in the role of a chosen occupation and must create something that someone in that occupation would do, or something they would use or need. The ideas have been very successful so far and we are looking forward to seeing what they come up with by the end of next week.

- Outdoor Physical Education and Health: Phil.Rosi@greenspireschool.org
I am so honored to lead the Outdoor PE and Health class at Greenspire! I am focused on the goal of building Lifelong Healthy People. In my first few weeks, I have been focused on establishing some regular routines with students. Every day, we do our “Daily Seven,” which is a series of body weight calesthenics focused on functional fitness. As I have told all the students, we will be outside as much as possible! We are in winter season, so it is really important to make sure that students have all the proper outdoor attire for the weather conditions of the day. I welcome your assistance to ensure that your students have what they need each day to stay warm, dry, and comfortable as we experience our great outdoor areas!
