Second semester is off to a great start. Students are adapting to new pods, creating new friendships and working well with others. This quarter we will be working with students on stress management. They will learn a variety of strategies in Good Humans and this will be echoed through advisory and council throughout the quarter.

Wednesday, January 31: 8th Grade at Greenspire High School
8th graders will need to be dropped off at Greenspire High School on January 31 at 8:45. They will spend half the day at the high school and then they will be bussed back to the middle school for lunch and the remainder of their day. If transportation to the high school is an issue, please reach out to Becky at office@greenspireschool.org so that we can help facilitate.
Chili Chillout with Greenspire:
We are excited to host a chili cookoff. Prizes will be awarded for best chili, most interesting chili and more! If you are interested in bringing chili, please sign up here: Chili Sign Up. This event is open to the public and is a great time to show friends and family what makes Greenspire so unique. We will have past and current projects on display. We love having opportunities to get our community together and look forward to this great event.
Enrollment Period Begins February 12 at 8am:
While we may have just started second semester, it is already time to start thinking about next year. All students must reenroll for next year. Current students are guaranteed a spot, but they must have all enrollment information submitted by March 8th. Failure to do so will result in a loss of their spot at Greenspire. More information will be sent as enrollment gets closer.
Fake-A-Day for Interested Students:
On February 16 from 1-3, Greenspire will hold a Fake-A-Day. This is an opportunity for students interested in Greenspire to come and be a student for an afternoon. If you have friends or family interested in Greenspire, please have them reach out to office@greenspireschool.org to sign up.
Medical Notes:
If your student is out for a medical reason, please submit doctor’s notes when possible. This helps us when tracking attendance so these days are not counted against your students overall absences.
Report Cards:
Teachers’ grades are due today and report cards will be mailed next week. At Greenspire you will receive a traditional report card with letter grades, along with a Greenspire summary of Social Emotional Standards as well as Project Based Learning Standards. While grades are important, we pride ourselves in educating the whole child. Please review both of these with your student. For any specific questions about the report card, please start by reaching out to the specific teacher. If you have any questions about the social-emotional or project- based grades, please reach out to your students advisory teacher.
