Hello Middle School Community –

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Our fall student-led parent conferences will take place this Thursday (5:00 to 8:00 pm) and Friday (1:30 to 3:30 pm). We encourage all parents to attend with their child who will lead them on a review of their 1st quarter work along with an opportunity to meet with each teacher for a brief discussion of their academic progress. Conferences take place on a first-come, first-serve basis. Lines can be long on Thursday evening so we encourage you to attend Friday’s afternoon session if possible.

Reminder – Friday, November 12th is a half day for students.  Dismissal is at 11:30 am.

SEAB Applications

The Greenspire School District is seeking interested candidates to be a part of our first Sex Education Advisory Board, or SEAB. The SEAB functions in an advisory capacity to The Greenspire School’s Board of Education in accordance with Michigan Laws. The purpose of the SEAB includes periodical reviewing of sex education curricula and materials to ensure: a) age appropriateness, b) developmental appropriateness, and c) medical accuracy, with the ultimate goal of promoting healthy development and reducing rates of sex, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases among students.

Any interested person may complete the SEAB application found in the toolbox section of our website for consideration as a potential nominee. One-half of the SEAB will be parents who have a student attending The Greenspire Middle or High School; the remaining members of the SEAB shall include The Greenspire School students, The Greenspire School educators, local clergy, and healthcare professionals.

The first two meetings will occur on Friday, January 21st and Friday February 25th from 12:45-2:00 pm in Katie Butera’s high school PE and Health (room 218) at University Center building, 2200 Dendrinos Dr.  Members are able to participate in-person or remotely through zoom.
