Charity Ball Success!

We had over 75% of students attend our first-ever charity ball. They raised 450 dollars and brought in hundreds of items for Northwest Coalition to End Homelessness. Thank you to all of those who chaperoned, donated items, and all others who helped make this event such a success. We would also like to give a special shoutout to the Giving Season Student Committee as well as Stephanie Slawnik for all of her work in helping our students.

Giving Season Spirit Week:

The Giving Season committee has organized a spirit week for next week:

Monday- Anything but a Backpack Day

Tuesday- Crazy Hat Day

Wednesday- “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink” Day

Thursday- Dress as a Celebrity Day

Friday- Dress in celebration of Winter Day

Parents/Gardians of 8th Graders ONLY! The yearbook staff is offering something new this year! You have the opportunity to celebrate your promoting 8th grader by purchasing space to personalize in the yearbook. Each space is fully customizable! You can add pictures, quotes, or a special note of pride for your child’s accomplishment. A half-page ad is selling for $20, a quarter-page ad is selling for $15, and an eighth-page ad is selling for $10.  Recognition ads can be purchased any time before April 17, 2024. 7th Grade Vision Screening:

The Grand Traverse County Health Department will be providing free vision screening services for 7th-grade students on Tuesday, December 19. Families wishing to decline their child’s participation are asked to complete a screening waiver that is available from the office. 

Upcoming Health Unit: Tobacco

After the winter break, students will be starting a unit on tobacco products, alcohol, and drugs in Health.  

Your student will analyze the following themes:
– The impact of tobacco, alcohol, and drug use

– What influences a person to use or refrain from using tobacco, alcohol, and drugs

– How to protect oneself from risky situations related to tobacco, alcohol, and drugs

– How to help others stay tobacco and drug-free

– Where to find information and resources

Greenspire Productions Presents: Beauty and the Beast Jr.???????

For the first time EVER, TGS students are going to put on a musical!  The show will take place at the beginning of March.  Emails have gone out to Cast and Crew member families for participation permissions.  Please also reach out to Claire Alexander if you are willing to help with the shows, costuming, sets, and more.  We are going to need lots of help.  Thank you for your support of the “Tale as Old as Time.”
