Three Weeks to Go!
It’s hard to believe we’re down to the last three weeks of school! With time flying by, it’s more important than ever for students to stay on top of their work—there won’t be time to make up missing assignments once the year ends.

May 30: Greenspire Reading Day
June 3rd: 8th Grade Tunnel Tour during the School Day- Must Complete the Attached Waiver by May 30.
June 4th: Festival of Athletics
June 5th: Grade Level Field Trips- See Attached Permission Slips
June 6th: Pit Spitters Field Day to Celebrate our Reading- Must Complete the Attached Permission Slip
June 10th: 8th Grade Graduation from 5-7, Mandatory for 8th Grade Students
June 11th: Last Day of School, Half Day- Students dismissed at 11:30
Field Trip Eligibility & Lunch Support
To attend the Festival of Athletics, Grade-Level Field Trips, and the Pit Spitters Game, students must have a 60% or higher in all classes. Those below 60% will remain at school to catch up on work and may still become eligible for later trips.
Lunch Work Sessions will run daily next week to support students in raising their grades. If you do not want your child to stay in for these sessions, please email me by Monday morning. Check your student’s grades here: Powerschool Link

Math: Please visit the Math Website to learn more. Health/PE: This week in Health, students have started our sexual education unit with a focus on HIV/STI prevention and the importance of setting healthy personal boundaries! Outdoor Ed: Spring has sprung at Greenspire! This week we are enjoying the ever elusive morel among other spring ephemeral! We have hunted for cleavers, a sticky plant that’s fun to play with, and ramps which are wild leeks! We continue to study ethical foraging, keep an eye out for ticks, and always remember to check ALL YOUR NOOKS AND CRANNIES after every school day at Greenspire. Only YOU can prevent tick bites!!
English: Students are completely immersed in the Creation Station and are working hard on their nonfiction children’s books. We are going to be walking to different schools around the area on May 30 to read these books to younger students, so we have a very firm due date for these books. If you do not want your child to attend reading day and walk to neighboring schools, please email Emily before Friday.
