School Safety Grant Award
As you know, Greenspire was awarded a $37,000 grant from the Michigan State Police to improve school safety at the middle school campus. This application was completed toward the end of February and we were excited to hear the good news this past week. This grant will help us to continue making safety improvements to Spruce and Maple that began last school year.

Half Day – Friday, May 13th
A reminder that this Friday, May 13th is a half-day for students. Dismissal at the middle school is 11:30 am.

No-Mow May

If you’re thinking of mowing your lawn this weekend, Greenspire students would kindly ask that you wait. The Greenspire community is invited to participate in No Mow May, an initiative that provides dwindling bee populations a survival boost entering the pollinator season. An initial study of the effort shows a fivefold increase in the number of bees in one Midwest community. The school will be giving away yard signs to willing participants, designed by 6th grade student Winter M.
So let that mower gather a little more dust this month so the bees can gather a little more pollen this spring!
