The forecast for the first week of school looks beautiful, but WARM. Please make sure your student has a water bottle and a change of clothes beginning the first day of school.

Please review the 2023-24 Parent Guide. It has a great deal of information in order to help your student be successful at Greenspire including emails to staff, a calendar for the year, a guide to car line, and much more.

A note about the car line: Please pull up along the side of the Maple building (the building next to the road). Students will meet you at cones 1, 2, or 3. Students are not allowed to get in cars outside of those areas. Students are not allowed to cross the street and get into a car. Also, please do NOT park at Pine Rest as that is not our property. At the open house, you should have received a name placard. Please place this in the driver’s window during carline. This allows us to make sure the correct student is getting in the correct car. If you need an additional one, please let the office know at office@greenspireschool.org. After the first few days, the car line normally takes less than 10 minutes. Please be patient as your student’s safety is our number 1 concern. Once you have your student, please continue down red drive. Do not make a u-turn at the bottom of the pickup line as it is dangerous to oncoming traffic. If your student will be walking or biking, please email the office to let them know. We need in writing that they have permission to leave campus without an adult. Lastly, Building 50 is NOT a hangout place for students. We appreciate our partnership with all of the businesses in the commons and would hate to lose that due to students misbehaving in our community. Please make sure your student knows the pickup plan each day before coming to school.

I would like to thank families that bought items from our Wish List. This is incredibly helpful to our staff and students.
Leelanau Outdoor Center: If you have not filled out the paperwork for Leelanau Outdoor Center, I have attached the form to this email. You can pay by credit card by going to the following link: Fee Collection. The amount for LOC is $125. If you would like to donate to help sponsor students, please let Clarita.Hoeksema@greenspireschool.org know and she can help arrange this.

We are beyond excited to get the school year started. If your student is nervous, please reassure them that this is a normal feeling going into any new environment and I assure you, they will all make friends shortly. Have a great holiday weekend and we will see all of you on Tuesday!
