Hello Greenspire Middle School Community –

We are just about a week away from the start of the 2021-2022 school year ?

School begins on Tuesday, September 7th.  The first day of school is a half day of school.  The school day begins at 8:30 am and ends at 11:30 am.  Students can be dropped off on campus after 8:00 am.  Students must be picked up by 4:00 pm each full day of school and by Noon on half days.  No adult supervision will be on campus prior to 8:00 am or after 4:00 pm (Noon on half days).

During the first several days of school, we will provide families with a placard to display in their front windshield to speed up the pick-up process.  While the pick-up line may seem long the first few days of school, our process usually takes about 15 minutes and it gets quicker as we go.

If you have not yet completed the Consent Form via a Google Form that was sent last week, please do so by this Wednesday, September 1st at 4:00 pm.  This form is required of all middle school and high school families before school begins.

A few reminders before school starts…

Masks – Masks are required of all students, faculty/staff, and visitors (parents/guardians) indoors during the school day or when students are present.  Masks are not required of students while outside.  Another copy of our masking policy is attached for reference.  Please make sure that your students brings at least two masks to school as one may become wet or sweaty while the students are outside.

The Toolbox – The Toolbox section of the website is your go-to place for all forms and handbooks.  One change for the 2021-2022 school year is that students are not permitted to have energy drinks on campus such as Red Bull, Monster or other similar drink.  More information is contained in the student and parent/guardian handbook located under the Middle School Resources box.

Water Bottles – Students should bring a refillable water bottle with them to school each day.  It is extremely important that students stay hydrated during the school day, particularly when the weather is nice and students are outside often.

School Closings – In the event that school is closed due to weather or building issue, you will receive an email that morning.  You may also view 9&10 News as well as 7&4 News.  We try to update our social media as well.  While many times we do close alongside TCAPS for inclement weather, that is not always the case as we have slightly different schedules.  Please look for the specific listing of The Greenspire School.

That’s it for now.  In the future, you will receive these weekly updates on Monday mornings, sometimes Sunday evenings .  They are also posted under the News section of our website for your reference.   We hope to see everyone at the Open House on Wednesday, September 1st from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. For more information regarding upcoming events, please visit the Calendar as well.
